Criminalization of Homelessness:
What are the effects of current policies and regulations being put into force in the
Bay Area targeting homeless and punishing their homeless status?
Osha Neumann, attorney at the East Bay Community Law Center and long time Homeless
Rights advocate, and Elisa Della-Piana, attorney at the Lawyers' Committee for Civil
Rights of San Fransisco and Boalt alum, will explain what these new local policies
are. They will, further, discuss how their homeless clients are being severely
impacted by these increasingly punishing regulations.
Additionally, each attorney will address how their legal projects within their
respective organizations are responding to these policies and are attempting to
mitigate the impact.
This event is sponsored by East Bay Community Law Center Student Steering Committee.
